No idea, but they do run out sometimes. They ran out of death a while back. Probably a FOTM thing, maybe people cranking out spiteful spirits or something?

I'm going to have to agree with the Spiteful Spirit thing. Go to ToA or War Camp and see how many Necros are running spiteful to farm.

I remember the day the death magic superiors ran out. I was with my necro at storage and saw the rune. I was about 30g short so I ran to storage. When I got back the rune was gone.

I saw they were out the other day, tried a couple of days later and got one. Might have to start hoarding before the price skyrockets.

Funny how people are just now realising the power of curse necro's now that their precious smiters/AOE nukers have been nerfed.

Yep, it's because of Spiteful Spirit. For some unfathomable reason, ANet decide to NOT to include this spell in the AI updates of Nov 10-11 (which is strange because it's quite similar to Mark of Pain, which was included). As far as I know, Spiteful Spirit is now the highest-DPS attack in the game, whenever you can get enemies to cluster (and, the AoE radius is even quite large).

And the icing on the cake is Spinal Shivers, another Curses spell, which can interrupt a single enemy continuously for a staggering 46 seconds (with max Curses and Awaken the Blood). Go N/W with Flurry and equip an Icy (HoD) Longsword of Enchanting, and you're the ultimate killing/shutdown machine. Or the more common N/Me with Arcane Echo for maximum overall damage. Hence the new FotM in War Camp: "SS/Spinal necro LFG".

Um..unless it's bugged, you can't interrupt continuously. Like a similar ele skill, Thunderclap, you can only keep it up so long as you have the energy. A warrior with a shocking/icy weapon means the hex will last 5-10 seconds if he keeps hitting them.

It's because Spiteful Spirit is controlled by the enemy and Mark of Pain is controled by the player. SS activates when the Enemy performs an action. MoP activates when the player performs an action(attacking with physical).

If Spiteful Spirit read, "Everytime you attack or use a skill, all enemies around you take X damage" The AOE patch would have nerfed SS as well.

To get back on subject, it has been going in and out of stock quite frequently. For instance, i bought one and then played for about half an hour. I go to buy another and it is out of stock, it took about 5 minutes for it to get back in.

They are most likely out of stock from the rush of people making SS builds for 2 man UW runs now that necros are so helpful for the 55 monks.
